    I believe in the power of art, specifically performance, theatre, music, poetry, to transform people and provoke social change and maybe even just create and sustain joy in lives.
    I love this earth, some of my favorite places on it include: Dumyat; Stanley, ID; Columbia, MO; New York City; Portland; Olympia, WA; London; Edinburgh; Dublin; Howth; Stirling; The Trossachs; The Rickman Center; Pine Ridge, ND.

      I took piano for 8 years when I was younger and I'm sort of refreshing my memory right now with some musical theatre, Joni Mitchell and Regina Spektor songs, because I love to sing all three.   I can play pretty basic guitar, and despite the elementary level at which I play, I would cry a lot if anything happened to my guitar.
 

   I LOVE books, my father is a professor and such an amazing brilliant man, and I raid his office bookshelf every time I visit, as well as the shelves at my parents' house.
    My mother is going back to school, specifically to seminary.  Her previous education was in outdoor education (she instilled my mad crazy love of the outdoors).
    I am not religious, or not affiliated, rather.  I am very spiritual and despite the lack of an immediate (as my  mom would call it) community of faith, I feel very connected to people and places, some more instensely than others, but that varying intensity is what makes certain people and places home, so I'm ok with it.
